Exhibition
IL PONTE IN ARTE

Yesterday evening was the opening of the 2015 Bagni di Lucca Art Festival. And it was an amazing event. Bagni di Lucca is situated about 20km from Lucca in the mountains and has once been (and still is) a hot spring resort, where the (reach) people from Lucca retrieved during the hot summer month. Beginning with the 1970s a lot of shops on the main road where closed because tourism nosedived. A few years ago in the then still empty shops art galleries where established. And three years ago the Bagni di Lucca Art Festival was founded. It is a small one but with a outstanding flair.
I was lucky to be invited to participate at the 2015 Festival at the La Rondine Gallery (owned by Shonan Nunan and Michael Cartwright, two outstanding artists themselves) with my exhibition "Leftovers. Utopia revistited".

Here are some impressions from yesterday's opening night:

Already during the preparation visitors dropped in...
After the official opening...
Contradictions. Soviet time peace monuments and italian (fascistic) war memorial...
Final of the opening: A concert by the band "Mozait"...
...which lasted long after midnight.

You can find some of the pictures of the exhibition on my website gallery here.

2014 JURIED EXHIBITION | CENTER FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC ART

My work, Metropolitan_The Lights of Moscow Metro, has been selected for inclusion in the gallery exhibit as part of the Center for Photographic Art’s 2014 Juried Exhibition at the Center for Photographic Art which will take place from January 11 through March 01, 2014 in Carmel, CA, USA.

Founded in Carmel, California in 1988, the Center for Photographic Art strives to advance the Central Coast’s distinctive photographic art forms through education, exhibition and publication. These regional traditions—including mastery of craft, the concept of mentorship, and dedication to an aesthetic that is both uplifting and inspiring—evolved out of CPA’s predecessor, the renowned Friends of Photography established in 1967. While respecting these West Coast traditions, CPA is also at the vanguard of the future of photographic imagery.

The Center for Photographic Art is pleased to announce our 2014 Juried Exhibition. This exhibition, of approximately 50 works, represents the winning images in this year’s Juried Exhibition competition, judged by Juror Diana L. Daniels, Curator of Contemporary Art, Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA. Ms. Daniels had the challenging task of selecting winning images from over 1,000 photographs submitted by photographers locally, nationally and internationally.
